Born on February 22, 1985. Since little is interested in art, with the earliest memories painted on stones, eggshells or modeling clay, and now, from 6 years said she wanted to be a painter when he grows up. In his childhood sparked his passion for painting and drawing unconditionally supported by his father and mother. During primary school in his hometown Cartago, was very encouraged and supported by their teachers, participating in national competitions where prizes and got honorable mentions, and some other internationally as the competition "Visa Olympics of the Imagination "in 1996 where his painting was among the top 50 countries of Mexico, the United States and Canada. In the summer of 1996 and 1997 received 2 courses of children\\\'s painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Costa Rica that marked deeply. Followed in the field of art by himself, his passion was such that he took the decision to study painting, entering in 2005 to the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Costa Rica. There he delved into various techniques, studying and researching, looking for its identity with the guidance of plastic several of his teachers, including Leon and Elizabeth Stone Stephen Thompson. Ylen is interested specifically in 2 spaces in art and contemporary art at the time headed by Professor E. Stone and portraits in watercolor technique by Professor E. Thompson. The first facility is interested in painting and mixed with the art object, the conceptual and ephemeral spaces that speak of intimate experiences and the second is interested in the pigment as such, love the stain, and seeks to capture the essence and gesture of the sitter ; all work focuses on everyday life. Currently pursuing a degree with an emphasis on contemporary art, as well as studying for a career in internal space as Veritas University complement.
